Carbon concentrates: also sustainable!

Until now, process carbons and carbon concentrates have been produced almost exclusively on the basis of fossil carbon sources.

Thanks to our new technical approach and our many years of experience in the application, production and procurement of technical carbons, we have developed product qualities together with the industry in which the carbon source is produced using carbons based on renewable raw materials without negatively affecting the properties of the products for use in technical and industrial processes.

In what form are sustainable carbon concentrates available?

We have now built up an extensive portfolio of different product qualities in order to be able to respond to the different requirements of the processes.

Especially in the area of carburizing agents, the products are available in comparable grain sizes and chemical compositions.

Frequently asked questions

To date, carbon concentrates have mainly been based on fossil carbons, which are refined for the respective area of application via extensive processing steps.

In recent years, LSR Materials has worked with partners from industry to develop carbon concentrates in which the fossil raw material source is replaced by renewable raw materials. The trick here is to leave the usual specification of products based on fossil raw materials largely unchanged. This is a major challenge when using renewable raw materials, which we were able to solve in the course of our R&D efforts.
